1) The ability to keep up with assigned work is essential. For this course, it is important to get a head-start on assignments. This is especially important because it takes a long time to figure out arrangements for and conduct interviews. Start planning interviews on the Monday of the week that the assignment is due.
2) The amount of interviews involved in this course was the biggest challenge. I personally am not someone who is easily able to speak to people, especially strangers. To be completely honest, the fear of failure pulled me through, as it does with most things. This is my first semester at UF, and it will be over soon. Why bomb it? Just try to mentally distance yourself from the stress you feel and know that soon it's all going to be over.
3) Tip 1: Stay on top of work, and plan parts of your assignments to be done throughout the week to minimize stress. Do not procrastinate.
Tip 2: Understand that while people can be rude, you will face much less attitude and awkwardness from interviews than you think. many people will at least try to be polite and non-aggressive, which is hard to understand intuitively if you are not a people person.
Tip 3: Keep up with video lectures. They are very important and provide helpful information on how to do assignments. The lectures are not difficult to understand, and they are almost entertaining (at least for a video lecture). Just get comfortable and try your hardest to absorb the concepts he explains.

Hi Heather, I was just having a conversation yesterday about the need to fake bravery until you actually start to feel brave. Sounds like you employed this tactic with your aversion to interviews. I also try to remember that I would not mind it a bit if another student wanted to interview me, I think most people feel that way. Most of us are so willing to make time for each other, did you find that you were pleasantly surprised by people's openness? I agree that the lectures are engaging, the material feels relevant and accessible. I had no trouble "forcing " myself to stay current.
